My name is Ellie.
Jesus came into my life and turned my world upside down when I was fourteen.
And ever since then, my life has never been the same.

"He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God."

I had heard all my life, "Jesus died on the cross for your sins," but never fully understood what that meant. Yeah, okay, Jesus took away all my sin. That's pretty great right? But to me, it was simply a sentence. A phrase that was tossed around. I believed in God. I believed he created the world. I even believed Jesus died for that very reason: to save sinners. Or at least I thought I did.

Then in 2012, Jesus breathed new life into me. He drew me out of that pit of death and sin and all things ugly, and gave me a new song to sing. I'm actually a singer, and my family will tell you that I go around the house singing things randomly. But this song that God has graciously given me is so much different than my songs I sing. It's a song of love. Hope. Peace. Strength. God sings over me this song of love. And he has given it to me to continue singing until my life's work, my 'work in progress,' is complete. My song is but a small part of God's symphony, his musical masterpiece. He weaves all of our songs together into this masterpiece. My song is but a note, a musical phrase that makes up his song. These songs are glimpses of a new earth, of the attributes of God himself. And I will continue to sing this song until my work here on earth is done. <3
